As rescue teams continue their work searching for two missing people
The Qassim University Council has decided to form an engineering team to urgently discuss the collapse incident.

The Board of Directors of Qassim University decided to form a committee including the University's Projects and Maintenance Department, the College of Engineering at the main campus, and the College of Engineering in Unaizah. This committee will study in detail the technical reasons for the collapse of a part of the ceiling of the conference center building (under construction) at the university city yesterday, Monday afternoon. The committee will then submit its findings and recommendations to the Board.
The Council, in its session held this morning, Tuesday, 7/9/1436 AH, expressed its deep sorrow and pain over the incident, praying to God Almighty to have mercy on the deceased and heal the injured.
In the same context, the university administration, led by its esteemed president, Professor Dr. Khalid bin Abdulrahman Al-Hammoudi, along with his deputies, and the Projects and Maintenance Department, continues to conduct round-the-clock field monitoring since the incident. This includes rescue teams from the Civil Defense, Saudi Red Crescent, and Health Affairs. Work and search efforts are still ongoing to ensure there are no victims under the collapsed ceiling. .
It is noted that civil defense rescue teams are still continuing their work at the site, where thermal cameras and police dogs have been deployed by the Saudi International Search and Rescue Team of the Civil Defense to locate the missing workers out of 15 workers, according to the Civil Defense report. Seven bodies of deceased individuals have been recovered, and six have been injured, while the search for the missing workers is still ongoing as of the time of this report.
On the same note, His Excellency the President of the University, and his Deputy for Academic Affairs, Professor Dr. Ahmed bin Saleh Al-Thami, and the University Vice President, Professor Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al-Omr, visited the comatose victims of the collapse at Buraidah Central Hospital and Dr. Sulaiman Al-Habib Hospital in Buraidah. They reviewed the medical reports of the injured and inquired about their health, asking God Almighty to grant them a speedy recovery and good health.
