The university, represented by the Intellectual Awareness Unit, under the patronage of His Excellency Professor Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, President of the University, organized a virtual scientific symposium on Monday, 2/8/1442 AH, titled "Flashes on the Statement of the Council of Senior Scholars and Warning Against the Terrorist Brotherhood Group." This initiative was activated as part of the da'wah initiative adopted by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, with the participation of the Ministry of Education and the Presidency of State Security, to clarify the danger of this group to religion and the homeland by targeting national cohesion and undermining security and stability in society.
The seminar was attended by Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Aqeel, Advisor to His Excellency the Minister of Islamic Affairs for Da'wah and Guidance Affairs, Dr. Fahad bin Sulaiman Al-Fahied, Professor in the Department of Aqeedah and Contemporary Sects at Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University, and Dr. Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al-Hleel, Researcher at the General Administration for Countering Extremism of the State Security Presidency. The seminar was moderated by Professor Dr. Fahad bin Ibrahim Al-Dalaa, Supervisor of the Intellectual Awareness Unit at the university.
The seminar reviewed the statement of the Council of Senior Scholars and the status of established scholars, the means used by groups and the Muslim Brotherhood to undermine and diminish this status, and warned against the ideology and danger of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood, warning the nation’s youth and making them aware of the danger of following this “terrorist group” which adopts false claims and deviant ideas and deviates from the moderate approach of the true Islamic religion. It also addressed refuting their claims and responding to their suspicions, deviant ideas, and terrorism, and clarifying the true religion.
This virtual seminar, attended by approximately 440 university affiliates, also highlighted how to protect our nation and youth from extremist ideologies to prevent the group's methods used to lure young men and women.
