The University, represented by the College of Arabic Language and Social Studies, held an awareness campaign yesterday, Friday, 3/5/1442 AH, to introduce the importance of using Arabic vocabulary in a number of coffee shops in Qassim, as part of the various events organized by the University on the occasion of the World Arabic Language Day, which falls on December 18 of each year.
The campaign distributed more than 1,445 different distributions in coffee shops, including flowers, coffee cups, brochures, chocolates, and posters with different messages urging the use of the Arabic language in our daily lives. There were also various paragraphs and lectures presented during the campaign, including a lecture entitled "The Arabic Language and Today's Generation" and a lecture introducing the Arabic language councils, their purpose, locations, mission, and role in which they play.
The campaign also asked several educational questions about the importance of cherishing the Arabic language, with various handouts urging the need to revive Arabic speaking when ordering a cup of coffee, and a "Speak Arabic" leaflet for employees and visitors to the stores.
