His Excellency the President of the University: We celebrate National Day not only to raise a slogan, but also to remember the glories of our country and the heroism of our founder

His Excellency Professor Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, President of the University, said: "Our celebration of the 90th National Day is not just about raising slogans, pictures, words, or phrases. Rather, we celebrate it to remember the glories of this nation and the valiant deeds of our founder, King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud – may God have mercy on him. He and his men fought battles and performed heroic acts that marked a historical epic full of achievements and valor that will forever remain in uniting this blessed country, which was built on the foundation of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah. Its flag now carries the greatest word, the word of monotheism.".

Al-Dawood added, during the ceremony held by the university on Tuesday, 12/2/1442 AH, on the occasion of the National Day anniversary in the main hall at the university city, in the presence of the university vice-presidents and members of the university council, that this great country was not built and did not reach what it has reached easily. Rather, it faced many difficulties and overcame them at the hands of the late King Abdulaziz, who proved to the whole world that this country is a country of monotheism and a country that embraces the Two Holy Mosques. He proved to everyone that it is victorious and was victorious with the help of God Almighty, and then his upright sons continued the march after him: King Saud, Faisal, Khalid, Fahd, and Abdullah – may God have mercy on them. And here we are in our prosperous era, the era of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and his crowned prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman – may God protect them and help them complete the march of goodness, giving, and growth.

“Al-Dawood” affirmed that the Qassim region is a generous region, led by His Highness the Emir, Prince Dr. Faisal bin Meshaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, and His Highness the Deputy Emir, Prince Fahd bin Turki bin Faisal bin Turki bin Abdulaziz. He said: “We are fortunate to have His Highness and his Deputy supporting this university and constantly encouraging it to excel. Praise be to God, our university has excelled thanks to the leadership of brothers and sisters with whom God has blessed us." He extended thanks and appreciation to everyone for what the university has achieved in its journey since its establishment. Praise be to God, the university has surpassed universities that were established before it. This is thanks to God, then to the generous support the university receives from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, the continuous support from His Highness the Emir of the region and His Highness the Deputy Emir, His Excellency the Minister of Education, His Excellency the Deputy Minister, and all colleagues at the Ministry of Education and all relevant ministries. We thank God for what the university has achieved, and we look forward to more excellence, progress, and development.

In his address to the students, His Excellency the President of the University pointed out the great responsibility that falls upon them after joining the university and being part of the constellation of their colleagues in this university, and with those who have graduated from it. They bear a responsibility in their diligence in their studies, their lectures, in the workshops and laboratories, and in all the places they are present. He noted that this diligence is a victory for this nation and support and celebration in the establishment of this nation. When we preserve the achievements of this nation and strive to be a brick of goodness, giving, and growth in our homeland, we are preserving it and standing with it and its leadership so that it remains, God willing, towering not only on the local level but also on the international level.

Al-Dawood thanked all those who worked on the National Day events, asking God Almighty to bring back happy occasions to us in security and safety, and to protect our wise leadership.

The ceremony organized by the university on this occasion began with the playing of the royal anthem, followed by a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by student Abdullah bin Ali Al-Rashidi from the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies. Then, a national poem was recited by student Osama bin Abdullah Al-Hujailan from the College of Arabic Language and Social Studies. After that, a visual presentation produced by the Deanship of Public Relations and Media at the university was shown. The ceremony events also included an accompanying exhibition featuring approximately 20 artworks by several male and female students from the university, in addition to a canvas filled with the feelings of international scholarship students expressed in more than one language, written by their own hands to express their emotions on the occasion of the National Day.
