Yesterday, Wednesday, 7/4/1441 A.H., the university concluded the major cultural competition organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs in the presence of the UQU Vice President for Educational Affairs, Dr. Muhammad Al-Udeib, who witnessed the final competition between the students of the College of Arabic Language and Social Studies and the College of Engineering in Onaiza, where Onaiza Engineering won the first place in the major cultural competition, which aimed to develop students' talents and skills, and in which university students competed through its various clubs, in the presence of a number of college deans and staff members of the university and students.
The closing ceremony included a presentation by the Deanship of Student Affairs of a film that talks about the most prominent activities and programs of the past year, and what the student activity achieves of very important educational and educational goals, including those related to the teaching of university subjects, and those that gain male and female students experience and skills inside and outside the university. This activity contributes to making the study environment more attractive and useful by developing their hobbies, and provides students with educational situations similar to life situations, and the student activity has contributed to graduating a group of creative people in all sciences, knowledge and literature.
The presentation also touched on what the university, represented by the Deanship of Student Affairs, provided for many student programs and activities inside and outside the university during the academic year 1439/1440 AH, the foremost of which was the celebration of the National Day. The first guest was His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Meshal, Governor of Qassim, in addition to participating in the Buraydah Spring Festival 1440 A.H. The university also embraced more than 700 students from various stages of general and university education for six weeks in the summer period and provided them with various programs through the summer club In addition to participating in the "All Our National Days" exhibition, which was held in Buraydah and visited by more than 4,000 visitors, holding the "Student Day" exhibition in the university lobby, and the "Peoples' Heritage Festival", in which scholarship students reviewed the heritage of their peoples with the participation of more than 330 students representing 25 countries.
As an extension of its social and national role, the film explained the participation of the University Rangers in many major events, the most important of which is the participation in the organization of Hajj and Umrah, where the University Rangers served more than 14 thousand pilgrims and 11 thousand Umrah pilgrims, and participated in the first forum for youth empowerment at the My Opportunity Forum in Buraydah, in addition to participating in organizing an exhibition within the International Conference for Higher Education in Riyadh and an exhibition at the National Heritage and Culture Festival "Janadriyah", and also held the "Innovator" exhibition to support talent and innovation, in addition to holding 18 sports activities that benefited 2048 students, which were organized by the deanship.
At the conclusion of the competition, the UQU Vice President for Educational Affairs honored the winners of advanced positions in the competition, where the College of Engineering in Aniza won first place, the College of Arabic Language and Social Studies won second place, and the College of Dentistry came in third place. His Excellency also honored the team "Nimah Sight", an initiative by the students of the College of Applied Medical Sciences, which aims to provide eye care in mosques in the Qassim region, in addition to honoring outstanding students in activities in the sports field, volunteer field, talent and innovation field, and scouting field.
Also honored were the clubs that excelled in student activities and programs during the past year, namely the clubs that received the bronze shield, the student housing club, the student club at the College of Science and Arts in Muthannab, the student club at the College of Engineering, the clubs that received the silver shield, and the clubs that received the silver shield: College of Applied Sciences in Al-Ras, College of Education, and Buraidah Community College; Gold Shield Clubs: College of Science and Arts in Aqla Al-Suqur, College of Science and Arts in Al-Ras, and College of Science; and Diamond Shield Clubs: College of Applied Medical Sciences, College of Medicine, and College of Engineering: College of Applied Medical Sciences, College of Dentistry, and College of Medicine.
During the closing ceremony, the deanship also honored students who excelled in student activities in several fields. In the sports field, the deanship honored the student Nasser Muhammad Al-Budaiwi from the College of Education - Kinesiology Department - who won five championships and advanced positions in football, and in the voluntary field, the student Yousef Suleiman Al-Hamid from the College of Pharmacy, who participated in organizing and supervising 192 voluntary events during four years, with a total of 4687 hours. In the field of talent and innovation, the student Nasser Abdulkarim Al-Balhan from the College of Science and Arts in Al-Madhanib was honored for creating 4 new innovations during the university stage, and finally in the field of scouting, the student Mashari Wasmi Al-Mutairi, who represented the university in four pilgrimage seasons and three years in Ramadan and volunteered 4380 hours, in addition to imitating the wooden badge, was honored in the field of scouting
