His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Meshal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Qassim Region, praised the participation of Qassim University in the Buraidah Dates Festival, held at the headquarters of the Dates City in Buraidah, where the university participates in a pavilion that includes an exhibition on "The Palm", organized by the University's College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, stressing the excellence of the university's participation in various occasions, saying: "This is what we are used to from the university."
H.H. the Amir of Qassim inspected the university pavilion participating in the festival and inspected the contents of the "Palm" exhibition during his visit to the festival headquarters on Wednesday, 20/12/1440 A.H. He expressed his admiration for the contents of the exhibition, which was designed in a way that tells the story of the university in supporting the palm tree, its research and studies, the literature on the subject of the palm tree, the awareness and therapeutic tours provided by the university through the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, and the international and local conferences in which it participated to explain the role of the palm tree and its date products.
The "Palm" exhibition also provides festival visitors with information about the Red Palm Weevil convoys organized by the university to familiarize farmers and interested parties with ways to prevent this pest, and various information about the types of dates, their products, by-products, benefits, types, and what the region is famous for, in addition to what the Kingdom is famous for, palm propagation methods, the most important insect and animal pests, control methods, the most important fungal diseases, irrigation systems, installation, and pollination in simplified information and models that simulate reality.
