Tomorrow, Friday. Umm Al-Qura University College of Medicine organizes the "Sixth Internship Course"

The «Sixth Excellence Course,» organized by the College of Medicine at the university, will kick off tomorrow, Friday, and will run for two days at the university city's clinics. The course includes 10 lectures and 19 workshops with the participation of medical students from Saudi universities. 

The course aims to provide a comprehensive overview for medical school graduates to plan their future careers and training during their internship year. It also assists them in choosing the appropriate specialization by benefiting from lectures and workshops presented by a selection of distinguished doctors, each in their respective fields. The program targets medical students from all faculties in the Kingdom.

The course includes workshops on neurosurgery, otolaryngology-head and neck surgery, ophthalmology, pediatrics, radiology, emergency medicine, dermatology, anesthesiology, general surgery, pediatric surgery, pediatric neurology, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, family medicine, orthopedic surgery, neurology, psychiatry, urology, and cardiac surgery.

The lectures also discuss a number of topics, most notably: the difference between the academic and clinical path, how to plan for the internship year, the role of the intern physician, common mistakes during internship, the Saudi Medical Specialties Licensure Examination, in addition to CVs and personal interviews, general discussions on surgery specialty, internal medicine specialty, and choosing a medical and surgical specialty.
