Mission

Providing educational and professional services, applied research and consultancy in preventive medicine and veterinary public health sciences, to contribute to achieving food security, preserving public health and supporting a sustainable national economy, in an environment that stimulates innovation and partnership.

An Overview

The Department of Veterinary Preventive Medicine is concerned with combating animal epidemics and protecting public health from diseases transmitted from animals to humans, including foodborne diseases of animal origin, promoting the concept of "One Health" that links human, animal, and environmental health, as well as studying and protecting the health of fungal animals and their relationship with ecosystems and human health. The department is also concerned with studying and tracking the epidemiology of disease outbreaks and analyzing epidemiological data to develop appropriate prevention strategies.

Objectives :

1. To emphasize the quality of education, merit, competitiveness and professionalism of students in the field of preventive medicine, public health and food safety of animal origin.
2. Develop applied research and innovation to support a sustainable national economy.
3. Strengthening advisory and training services in the field of public health and disease prevention and control programs.
4. Strengthening partnership and knowledge exchange nationally and internationally, thereby enhancing social, economic and environmental conditions.
