Bachelor of Science in Sport and Physical Activity
Description:
On 14/3/1431 A.H., the Royal Approval No. 2487 was issued to establish the Department of Physical Education and Movement Sciences at the College of Education at Qassim University. The department launched the Bachelor of Physical Education and Movement Sciences program, which was mainly aimed at preparing physical education teachers, in addition to qualifying competencies to work in other fields related to the sports field. Later, Ministerial Decision No. (88247) was issued on 16/6/1439 AH, which stipulated the need to renew the pre-service teacher preparation programs, based on the work of the committee for the development of teacher preparation programs formed by Ministerial Decision No. (73570) on 13/8/1438 AH. The decision included directing Saudi universities to develop bachelor's programs in physical education to become specialized programs under the name of sports sciences and physical activity, so that graduates are specialized in sports sciences and able to work in various fields of sports and physical activity. In this context, the Department of Physical Education and Movement Sciences at the College of Education at Qassim University is one of the pioneering departments that contributed to meeting the directives of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its development vision 2030 by launching the Bachelor of Science in Sport and Physical Activity program. The program's study plan has been designed to include multiple tracks covering various fields, namely: Sports Coaching, Sports and Recreation Management, Fitness and Sports Nutrition, and Physical Activity. The department also launched the Master of Science in Sport and Physical Activity program, in response to the need of society and the labor market for qualified competencies in this scientific specialization. Graduates of these programs will target multiple fields, including sports clubs, recreational activity centers, fitness centers, sports facilities management, military sectors, and the public health sector.

Students are admitted in accordance with the study and examination regulations for the university stage and its executive rules at Qassim University, in addition to what is issued by the University Council, and the department's admission tests, which include the following aspects: - Medical fitness test - height, weight and stature tests. - Physical abilities tests. - These tests aim to increase the ability to select the best student applicants and ensure their safety and freedom from chronic diseases, deformities and disabilities, in addition to medical safety and the availability of the motor, physical fitness and skill aspects required for the nature of the study in the department, in addition to the general tests conducted by the university in accordance with university regulations and university admission policies
