Mission
Providing accredited educational and professional programs, applied research and consulting services in the fields of plant production, contributing to agricultural development and sustainable food and environmental security nationally, to participate in achieving the mission of the college and the university.
Overview
The department offers undergraduate and graduate programs leading to bachelor's and master's degrees in plant production science. The department's faculty members have a wide variety of research and teaching specialties and interests. Their areas of expertise include: Field Crop Science, Vegetable Production, Fruit Production, Ornamental, Medicinal and Aromatic Plant Production, Plant Breeding Science, Plant Genetics and Biotechnology, and Botany and Physiology.
Objectives :
Providing advanced and accredited educational programs and practical training opportunities in plant production to prepare scientifically and professionally qualified cadres with skills that meet the needs of the labor market.
2. Carrying out scientific research in plant production that contributes to the development of environmentally friendly agricultural techniques and achieving sustainable development.
3. Providing consultations and technical services to farmers and the local community in the field of plant production, and participating in awareness and training programs to enhance knowledge of modern agricultural techniques.
4. Enhancing cooperation with national and international academic and research institutions, as well as the public and private sectors, to exchange knowledge and expertise and develop joint projects that serve the agricultural sector.
