The Department of Physical Therapy is one of the vital and rare departments in Saudi and Arab universities. The department offers a new degree, Doctor of Physical Therapy, which is an advanced degree beyond a Bachelor's degree. It is characterized by intensive educational content and clinical training. This degree is awarded in a number of international universities and is considered the sole and primary degree for practicing the physical therapy profession in the United States of America and European Union countries by 2020. Statistics indicate the accreditation of 255 academic programs in the United States of America and 4 programs in Canada and Europe. Admissions to all academic programs in the United States of America that award a Bachelor of Physical Therapy degree ceased in 2002, and admissions to Master of Physical Therapy (MPT) programs ceased in 2015.

After completing this program, students will be able to:
I: Knowledge:
1- Familiarize yourself with the basic concepts and theories in the biomedical sciences that support the study of physical therapy.
2- Defines the basic concepts and theories in the fields of medical rehabilitation, physiotherapy, humanities, and scientific research techniques.
3- Recognizes the causes, pathological and mechanical changes, and the medical picture of various pathological conditions in physical therapy specialties.
4- Describe the basic principles and theories of medical, surgical, and physiotherapy treatment programs in the evaluation of various pathological conditions in physiotherapy disciplines.
5- Define the role of physical therapy in preventing diseases and injuries and improving public health.
