His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz honored the University, represented by the Sustainable Development Center, on the occasion of its winning the Al-Qassim Award for Excellence and Creativity in its sixth session, organized by the Emirate of Al-Qassim Region and hosted by the University, yesterday, Wednesday, June 10, 2026. The award was received by His Excellency Professor Dr. Mohammed bin Fahd Al-Sharikh, President of the University, at the King Abdulaziz Conference Center at the University City.
The university's recognition comes in appreciation of the excellence of the University Agency for Business Development and Community Partnership in the field of environmental sustainability. This was achieved through adopting a clear institutional methodology for applying sustainability concepts and integrating them into operational processes and procedures, in addition to achieving a tangible environmental, social, and economic impact supported by reports and indicators. There are also continuous development and improvement plans that enhance the sustainability of initiatives and programs.
For his part, His Excellency the President of the University affirmed that this achievement reflects the university's commitment to promoting sustainability concepts and implementing best environmental practices in its various works and projects, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, and contributes to building a sustainable university environment that achieves a positive impact on society, economy, and environment.
The Qassim Award for Excellence and Creativity aims to promote environmental awareness, protect natural resources, reduce pollution, support the circular economy, and encourage various entities to adopt environmental, social, and economic sustainability methodologies, thereby contributing to the achievement of sustainable development at the regional level.
