The Society of Actuaries (SOA) has approved the educational experience (VEE) for undergraduate students in Actuarial and Financial Mathematics at Qassim University in three areas: economics, accounting and finance, and mathematical statistics. This approval allows students to meet the requirements for these areas by passing approved courses within the program, rather than taking separate professional exams in the same fields.
This international achievement is a culmination of the university's and the College of Science's efforts, represented by the Mathematics Department, in continuous development and improvement of the program's outcomes in line with local and international labor market requirements, and preparing the program's graduates for the labor market in the optimal way and with local and international competitive advantages.
The Society of Actuaries (SOA), founded in 1949 by a select group of leading academics and actuaries from major international insurance companies, is headquartered in Chicago, USA. It is one of the largest international associations in the field of actuarial mathematics, aiming to qualify and empower its members to apply the best solutions for managing financial risks associated with various aspects of life.
