His Excellency the Minister of Education, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Federation for University Sports, Mr. Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Bunyan, honored Qassim University for achieving fourth place among more than 50 Saudi universities and colleges, both public and private, in the results of the performance index for the 15th sports season for Saudi universities.
This came during the annual ceremony of the Federation, which was held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Education in Riyadh, in the presence of His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Muhammad bin Fahad Al-Sharekh, and a number of university leaders, officials and those interested in university sports affairs.
This achievement reflects the university's continuous efforts in organizing and activating internal sports activities, increasing the participation of students in various games, in addition to community initiatives and activities for people with special needs. The university was also distinguished by its external participation in the federation's championships and hosting sports events. During the year 1446 AH, the university recorded more than 2800 sports activities and about 15 external participation, during which it achieved many medals and awards in individual and group competitions.
It is noteworthy that the university has maintained its position among the top seven Saudi universities in the performance index results over the past five seasons, which confirms its institutional approach in developing the university sports environment and encouraging students to practice sports activities to enhance their skills and health, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 in supporting university sports and developing the capabilities of young people.
