SDG 6.5.4: Sustainable water extraction on campus
Qassim University place different efforts and initiatives in the sustainable extraction and management of water resources on campus. These activities are critical in addressing water scarcity, enhancing resilience to climate change, reducing environmental impact, and demonstrating the university’s leadership in sustainability. In ground water extraction processes, Qassim University implement a groundwater extraction protocols aligned with environmental thresholds. In addition, Qassim University use and implement smart water meters and real-time monitoring systems for water sources. In order to minimize reliance on groundwater, the implemented water system in the university include rainwater harvesting and reuse systems

Qassim University supports 10 research projects worth 1.5 million riyals, including roads and water.
