His Excellency Professor Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, the University President, affirmed that the University enjoys great support from the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman – may God protect them. He also stated that the University occupies an advanced position among the universities of the Kingdom, stressing the necessity for the University’s affiliates to prove that it will remain a leader through diligent pursuit of quality standards.
Al-Dawood added during his speech at the fifth annual quality ceremony, organized by the University Vice Presidency for Planning, Development and Quality, on Tuesday, 22/1/1440 AH, in the main hall of the Medical Clinics building at the university campus in Al-Maleeda, that the efforts and work of the university's loyal sons will elevate it to the highest local levels and place it among the distinguished universities worldwide.
Al-Dawood expressed his thanks to the university agency, the Deanship of Development and Quality, its officials, and the members of the university council for their interaction, dedication, and keenness to improve their academic work, noting that this occasion is very significant because it highlights what the university has achieved. He affirmed that the university strongly supports this direction, pointing out that the budget indicator for the university announced by the Minister of Finance yesterday is sufficient to make everyone work, and the responsibility for management returns to us.
Dr. Saleh bin Ali Al-Rubaish, Dean of the Deanship of Development and Quality, spoke about the internal audit standards. He also addressed how to determine the level of the deanship or administration, which is determined based on the total points obtained. The quality performance for programs, deanships, and administrations is classified through five levels: Diamond (Level 1), Gold (Level 2), Silver (Level 3), Bronze (Level 4), and Ascending (Level 5). Colleges are classified into three levels: Leading, Distinguished, and Advanced. He noted that during the past period, 35 colleges, 49 major programs, across 17 locations, were audited by 21 auditors. He also discussed how to improve programs, deanships, and administrations.
Based on these classifications, "Al Dawood" honored colleges, deanships, and departments that received the University Shield for Quality through several categories. At the forefront were the Diamond Shield programs, which included «Veterinary Medicine, Medicine and Surgery, Physical Therapy, and Doctor of Pharmacy in Unaizah.» Following these were the Golden Shield programs: «Nursing Program, and Animal Production and Breeding Program.» Programs awarded the Silver Shield were also honored, including the «Chemistry Program, Plant Production and Protection Program, and Health Administration Program.».
The honoring also included programs that received the Bronze Shield, which are: «Food Science and Human Nutrition, Health Informatics Program, Kindergarten, Mathematics Program, Physics Program, Psychology Program, Physical Education and Sports Sciences Program,» in addition to programs that received the Rising Shield, which are: «English Language and Translation Program, Arabic Language and Literature Program, Islamic Studies Program.».
The ceremony also highlighted the university's commendable achievements, as a number of the university's college programs received national program accreditation during the academic year 1438-1439 AH. As a culmination of this achievement, these programs were honored by the Rector of the University. They are: the Optometry Doctor program, the Fashion Design program, the Pharmacy Doctor program, the Public Health program, the Clinical Nutrition program, and the Sharia program.
After that, His Excellency the University President honored the colleges that achieved advanced positions in applying quality standards. The colleges were categorized into several groups. The first group, leading colleges, included: «College of Medicine, College of Physical Therapy, College of Pharmacy in Unaizah, and College of Nursing.» Then, distinguished colleges included: «College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, and College of Public Health and Health Informatics.» Finally, advanced colleges included: «College of Science, College of Science and Arts in Uglat Al-Suqoor, College of Science and Arts in Riyadh Al-Khabra, College of Science and Arts in Ar Rass, College of Science and Arts in Al-Nabhaniyah, College of Science and Arts in Al-Asyah, College of Science and Arts in Unaizah, and College of Education.».
During the ceremony, supporting deanships and departments that received the Qassim University Quality Shield were also honored. They were categorized into several groups, some of which received the Diamond Shield: «Deanship of Community Service and Deanship of Student Affairs.» The Deanship of Graduate Studies received the Golden Shield, while the «Deanship of Scientific Research, Deanship of Admissions and Registration, and Public Relations Department» received the Bronze Shield. The Rising Shield was awarded to: «Deanship of E-learning and Distance Education, and the Logistics and Transportation Department.» Additionally, members of the internal review for the university's programs, supporting deanships, and departments were honored for their significant efforts in supporting the development and quality journey.
