His Excellency Prof. Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, President of the University, attended the ceremony of the Knight Award of the Department of Physical Education and Movement Sciences on Wednesday, 9/8/1439 A.H., at the sports hall in the University City, which is held at the end of each academic year, and this year 1438/1439 A.H. The ceremony crowned the distinguished athletes and winners. On the sidelines of the award, many events are held that highlight the abilities and potentials of the students of the Department of Physical Education and Movement Sciences and the knowledge, skills, physical abilities, and emotional and emotional values they acquired during their studies, which encourage motivation and develop loyalty and belonging to the homeland. The ceremony started with verses from the Holy Quran, then the students" march began with a prayer to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud - may God protect him - for the continuity of security and stability in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the students carried the national flag and an awareness mast of Vision 2030 to the anthem "My Country, My Country, Beacon of Guidance". After lining up in the university gymnasium, the students presented a sports show that included a series of sports exercises characterized by harmony in the performance of students under the slogan "Resolve and Determination", then the students chanted together with the chant "We are the men of Abu Fahd". The ceremony included a presentation of karate sports, which included a review of the basics and the first kata "Hayan Shodan", then a review of martial arts and self-defense in an exhibition entitled "No to terrorism" in addition to a gymnastic show by reviewing basic skills and front and back aerial circuits. At the end of the ceremony, Al-Dawood honored the department's Knight Award, which aims to select the elite students through the nomination of faculty members, each in his course according to a set of criteria, namely "attendance, discipline and scientific excellence." Fifty-five students were nominated from a total of 600 students to conduct the necessary statistical treatments to crown five students with the award, in order (Asim Yousef Al-Jarifani, Ibrahim Hamoud Al-Hassoun, Muhammad Ali Al-Suwail, Raed Saleh Al-Azzaz and Ryan Rajeh Hobani). The students who obtained belts certified by the Saudi Federation for Karting were also honored, as well as the College of Education's football team that won the university championship.
