UQU President inaugurates "Awareness" program to confront misguided ideology. Emphasizes the importance of national cohesion

His Excellency Prof. Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, President of the University, revealed the idea of establishing a special phone to respond to the inquiries of young people about doubts and falsehoods that may be spread by some, and make young people doubt the constants of this country, stressing that this idea will soon see the light of day and will be the first of its kind in the Kingdom's universities.

During his speech at the symposium on "Misguided Thought: Manifestations, Causes, Prevention and Treatment He stressed the need to stand as one man and stand with our rulers, leaders and scholars to protect our homeland and ourselves from enemies, pointing out the importance of holding such seminars to protect the nation's youth who are targeted by the enemies through thought, expressing his regret over the occurrence of shameful acts due to extremist thought.

His Excellency explained the role of universities and their great responsibility towards fighting and confronting this ideology, admitting that there are mistakes made by everyone, and explaining the importance of advice and guidance so that our national cohesion is not breached because the security and safety of the homeland is considered a red line, considering that the unity of the people with the wise leadership is the protector against destructive ideas. He also warned the students not to let the enemies enter through them, and asked them to refer to professors and scholars who are trusted with their opinion, mind and religion, through the intellectual awareness unit established by the university for the first time in the Kingdom, which welcomes students, their inquiries, discussions and dialogues in all transparency.

The seminar was attended by Dr. Othman bin Muhammad Al-Siddiqi, Senior Advisor at the General Directorate of Intellectual Security at the Ministry of Interior, Brigadier General Dr. Muhammad bin Hamid Al-Thaqafi, Professor of Security Sciences at Naif Arab University, and Dr. Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al-Halil, Advisor on National Issues and Intellectual Security at the Ministry of Interior.

The symposium began with a speech by Dr. Othman Al-Siddiqi, who highlighted the most prominent indicators of intellectual deviation and ways to address intellectual deviation in the light of Islamic law, then Brigadier General Dr. Mohammed Al-Thaqafi delivered a speech in which he spoke about the concept of misguided thought in Islamic law and the most prominent intellectual manifestations that are contrary to the moderate approach of Islam, then Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Halil spoke about the most prominent causes leading to intellectual deviation and ways to be followed to prevent intellectual deviation.

The symposium also witnessed a number of events, as the university students presented the Protectors of the Homeland Operetta, which witnessed great interaction by the attendees, then opened dialogue sessions in the main lobby of the university in cooperation with the King Abdulaziz Center for National Dialogue, and a training course entitled Intellectual Security and the Role of Institutions in Promoting it was presented by Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Halil, and the UQU President opened the "Awareness" exhibition, which included a number of manuscripts and expressive images, as well as the names and pictures of martyrs of duty who fell victim to misguided ideology.
