The College of Rehabilitation Sciences at the university celebrated the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, with the participation of several entities, including the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Social Affairs, Social Security, and other entities and associations concerned with this group. The program included workshops, lectures, and medical clinics under the supervision of a number of specialists in the field of physical therapy.
For her part, Dr. Maryam bint Saleh Al-Harbi, Dean of the College, explained that this celebration comes within the framework of the wise government of the Kingdom's interest in them by providing an integrated system for their care through specialized bodies in several fields to enable them to communicate with society without barriers or obstacles.
The college dean confirmed that the goal of organizing this event stems from the great importance of this group and the noble purpose of the day, which is to serve and support them in all areas, enabling them to interact normally with those around them and integrate into society. She commended the role of the participating entities and the official sponsors for their sponsorship of the Day for People with Special Needs.
The celebration's organizer presented an exhibition of all that can serve people with special needs, including tools and assistive devices, in addition to an entertainment section for children with disabilities, where many gifts and in-kind prizes were presented by sponsors.
