Qassim University achieved a new institutional achievement by obtaining the highest category (5 stars plus) in the QS Stars assessment from the QS International Classification Organization, in recognition of its excellence in a number of academic, research and institutional axes, reflecting programmatic quality and integrated institutional performance, as the first Saudi university to receive this assessment.
Comprehensive assessment based on international standards
The university underwent rigorous and iterative assessments according to the QS Stars criteria, which covers a wide range of academic areas, such as teaching quality, research, graduate employability, innovation, social responsibility, and infrastructure. The evaluation was carried out by independent arbitrators, through periodic reports issued by the QS organization, until the final evaluation and adoption of the results.
Continuous progress in organizational performance
Dr. Majid Al-Enezi, Vice President for Business Development and Community Partnership, explained that the university was able to achieve this advanced evaluation based on its outstanding institutional performance, as in 2021 it obtained a 5-star evaluation, before this time achieving the highest category (5 stars plus), which reflects the continuity in developing academic, research and administrative performance.
He added that this achievement represents an international recognition of the university's level of institutional discipline and confirms its commitment to international standards of academic quality, pointing out that this qualitative assessment comes as a continuation of previous successes, as the university previously obtained full institutional accreditation, in addition to several programmatic accreditations and national awards, which strengthened its position in international academic rankings and improved its outputs.
Positive implications for the university's competitiveness
This evaluation confirms the advanced position occupied by Qassim University in the local and international academic scene, and represents a new step towards achieving its strategic objectives in promoting academic excellence, supporting scientific research, and raising the quality of education and its outputs, which contributes to raising the university's competitiveness globally and consolidating its position among leading educational institutions.
