The University, represented by the UQU Vice Presidency for Educational Affairs, signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce, represented by the Ministry's Vice Presidency for Joint Services, on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, with the aim of cooperating in establishing the Namaa volunteer team to translate the statutory documents of the Ministry of Commerce, as this comes within the framework of the university's keenness to activate community partnership and enhance joint cooperation with various entities.
The memorandum was signed by His Excellency the UQU Vice President for Educational Affairs, Dr. Fahad bin Sulaiman Al-Ahmad, and His Excellency the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce for Joint Services, Mr. Mazen bin Muhammad Al-Harithi, in the presence of the Dean of the College of Languages and Humanities, Prof. Ibrahim bin Sulaiman Al-Lahim, and the Head of the Department of English Language and Literature, Dr. Yasser bin Abdul Rahman Al-Batti.
The memorandum aims to establish the Namaa volunteer team to translate the Ministry of Commerce's statutory documents from Arabic to English. It also aims to provide seats for cooperative training for graduates of the Department of English Language and Literature according to the capabilities of the Ministry of Commerce, in addition to holding introductory meetings about the labor market according to the Kingdom's Vision 2030 for the university's graduates.
