The University, in cooperation with the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises (Monsha'at), celebrated the graduation of 20 university startups from the Qassim University Accelerator on Wednesday morning, in the presence of His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Mohammed bin Fahad Al-Sharekh, His Excellency the Governor of the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises (Monsha'at), Mr. Sami bin Ibrahim Al-Husseini, and a number of experts and specialists in the field of entrepreneurship.
The University Startups Accelerator Program aims to support the entrepreneurial projects of university employees and students and recent graduates, develop their capabilities, enhance their growth in the market, improve their attractiveness to attract invested capital, improve their organizational structure and competitiveness, and become successful startups that attract investment opportunities and are able to grow and expand.
The closing ceremony of the University Startup Accelerator, which was held in the main lobby of the University City, saw the startups present their projects in the presence and participation of a group of investors, funding bodies, and providers of development services for the participating projects, as the projects varied between several sectors such as technology, e-commerce, entertainment, tourism, manufacturing, as well as financial and advanced technology.
During their six-month journey, the accelerator participants benefited from a range of programs and services for new startups to support and develop them into successful companies with an economic return, in addition to financial grants, workshops, mentorship sessions, a range of financing solutions, networking opportunities with investors and funders, and enriching meetings with successful entrepreneurs.
