The university, represented by the College of Veterinary Medicine, intends to organize the Second International Scientific Meeting on Camels under the slogan «Camels 2024: Sustaining the Heritage,» under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Qassim Region, from November 5-7, 2024 AD, corresponding to 3-5 Jumada Al-Awwal 1446 AH. This event is held in partnership with the Emirate of Al-Qassim Region and the branch of the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture in Al-Qassim.
The forum aims to identify the latest scientific and research updates in the fields of camel health, diseases, and economics, both locally and internationally, to contribute to the development of this important economic resource and support the Kingdom's Vision 2030. It also aims to determine the nature and extent of health problems facing investment in the camel sector and develop scientific plans and recommendations for their treatment. Furthermore, it seeks to crystallize a modern and future plan to increase camel productivity by identifying research updates in the fields of treating fertility problems, genetic improvement, camel nutrition, and the processing and safety of their products. It will also cover research results related to the utilization of camels and their products, and the possibility of their use in diagnosing and treating human diseases. Additionally, the forum will review the economic and social aspects of camels, highlighting their role as a popular and national heritage, and will include various exhibitions for companies and entities related to camel needs and products.
