His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Qassim Region, today, Sunday, May 26, 2024, sponsored the closing ceremony and honored the winners of the "Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz Holy Quran Memorization Competition in its second edition", organized by Qassim University, in the presence of His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Mohammed bin Fahd Al-Sharekh and the Vice Presidents and staff of the University, with prizes estimated at nearly half a million riyals, and more than 1000 students participated in the competition, which exceeded the number of more than 1000 male and female students.
HH the Emir of Qassim thanked Qassim University and all those responsible for organizing this distinguished Quranic competition and expressed his pride in its outputs since its launch in the first and second sessions: "I am honored to sponsor the occasions of memorizing the Holy Quran, and I consider it one of the most precious and beloved occasions to my heart because of the great position of the Quran in the curriculum of this country and in our daily lives.
His Highness added that holding such competitions at universities or through associations and all activities and encouraging male and female students to memorize the Quran is a great message that our wise leadership emphasizes and supports its outcomes, thanks to God's grace and success.
During his patronage of the ceremony and honoring the winning students, HH the Amir praised the university's efforts in organizing this competition, expressing his pride in the spirit of high competition among the participants and interest in the Holy Quran, stressing that the Book of Allah is the approach of our blessed country since its establishment until our prosperous era, noting the state's efforts in caring for the Holy Quran, its preservation, recitation and printing.
The competition was held in three accredited branches for memorizing the Quran; the first branch for memorizing the entire Quran, the second branch for memorizing 20 parts, and the third branch for memorizing 10 parts. The preliminary qualifications for the competition were launched during the holy month of Ramadan to sort the contestants, through which 143 male and female participants qualified for the final qualifications.
For his part, His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Mohammed bin Fahad Al-Sharekh, said in his speech during the ceremony:
In this blessed country, we are living a civilizational renaissance that does not lose sight of building the human being and the quality of his life, including what we see as a great incentive to pay attention to the word of God, with which the soul lives, religion is upright, and life is stable, and this university Qur'anic competition is evidence of the interest in this matter and enhancing its presence in a country where the Qur'an was revealed on its pure soil.

His Highness the Amir also opened the exhibition "It is for a Noble Quran" organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs at the university, which contains 54 corners that talk about the stages of the revelation of the Quran, the care of the companions of the Holy Quran, the Kingdom's efforts in serving the Holy Quran, scientific production in the Quran and its sciences, scientific theses at the university, student achievements "scientific research", displaying a number of ancient manuscripts and scientific books, and the participation of the King Fahd Complex for Printing the Holy Quran in printing and verification of Qurans and translating interpretations into a number of languages.
During the ceremony, His Highness honored the King Fahd Complex for Printing the Holy Quran for its participation in the exhibition, as well as the scientific committee of the competition and the arbitration committee, after which His Highness crowned the winning students.
