His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Meshal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Emir of Qassim Region, sponsored the closing ceremony of the "Peoples' Heritage Festival", organized by the university, with the participation of the university's international students representing more than 90 nationalities, in the presence of His Excellency Prof. Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, President of the university, and the Undersecretary of Qassim Emirate, Dr. Abdullah Al-Sager, Vice Presidents and members of the university council and directors of government agencies at Qassim International Conference and Exhibition Center in Buraydah.
For his part, His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Meshal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Qassim, said: I congratulate the distinguished Qassim University, President, Vice Presidents, Deans and the University Council for the idea of this international festival, its great success and achieving the Kingdom's goals to be an incubator for all global civilizations and cultures.
His Highness added : This festival and the gathering of more than 90 nationalities of scholarship students at Qassim University sends a message to the world that our faith and our holy country embraces all peoples without exception and enshrines coexistence and brotherhood with all peoples of the world.
His Highness the Emir of Qassim toured the participating corners, which include a pavilion of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, the Saudi Pavilion, the Qassim University Pavilion, the corner of the Ministry of Education represented by the General Department for Non-Saudi Student Scholarships, the exhibition of educational tools in Saudi Arabia from the first to the third Saudi state, in addition to the participation of many corners of international students from different countries in which they present many events, exhibitions, competitions and performances, which present the most prominent cultural features and heritage legacies of the countries from clothes and artifacts, popular foods, handicrafts and industrial textiles special for them, in addition to the participation of several international students from different countries.
His Highness witnessed the closing ceremony of the festival, which included two introductory films about the university's efforts for international students and their feelings on the occasion of this festival. He also listened to the speech of international students who expressed their thanks and appreciation to the Kingdom that allowed them to study and provided support and attention to international students to spread science and knowledge.
Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al-Ajlan, General Supervisor of the festival, said that the university has worked to attract a number of international students and provide them with a stimulating educational, cultural and social environment that promotes belonging to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He pointed out that the festival reflects one of the dimensions of the university's vision, which is the effective national and global partnership, and also reflects its mission to promote national development and the values of belonging and justice, which is to focus on peaceful coexistence among peoples.
Al-Ajlan explained that the festival also reflects the extent of openness to diversity and coexistence in the Kingdom, and enhances the educational and educational role of the university in honing students' skills and developing their abilities.
HH the Emir of Qassim honored the outstanding international students at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, in addition to students who excelled in student activities.
His Highness also inaugurated the second edition of His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Meshal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Qassim Region, to memorize the Holy Quran at Qassim University.
The university holds this festival with the aim of enriching cultural diversity and learning about the customs and heritage of peoples through its international students, who number more than 5,000 international students, as it comes within a series of community programs and events held annually by the university.
This year's festival witnessed the participation of 1,200 participants, more than 900 international students, and more than 42,000 visitors to the six-day festival.
