Under the patronage of His Excellency Prof. Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, President of the University, the University held the first forum of the World Education Day 2024, entitled "Enhancing the integration of educational institutions to achieve the objectives of Vision 2030," which included four scientific sessions with the participation of 10 speakers from several universities and educational and training entities, at the conference center in the University City.
The forum aims to raise awareness of the contents of quality learning and its contributions to the prosperity and development of humanity, highlight the identity of colleges of education, enhance their status and anticipate their future roles, as well as review evaluation mechanisms in public education and the efforts of the Education and Training Evaluation Commission, in addition to supporting the partnership between colleges of education and community institutions, as well as the role of these colleges in strengthening the link between public education and university education, which witnesses the participation of a group of experts and specialists from various universities in the Kingdom.
The UQU President welcomed the participants to the forum, stressing that this forum enhances the efforts and roles that are being exerted in order to integrate the colleges of education in universities with public education institutions and evaluation and measurement bodies to draw trends and visions, which will, God willing, contribute to achieving what our rulers and our wise leadership aspire to, which spares no effort to support the march of education.
For his part, Dr. Fahad Al-Ahmad, Vice President for Educational Affairs, delivered the university's speech, during which he stressed that the forum aims to promote the values of education, raise awareness about it, and seek to develop ideas and practices, believing that the power of knowledge and its ability to transform ideas into a practiced reality is the way towards the successful industry of the future and the realization of hopes.
Al-Ahmad said: "This forum will take you through its four sessions, which take a hierarchical form and a gradual cognitive direction, starting from defining the identity of colleges of education towards education, passing through the role of the evaluation body in evaluating and optimizing the impact and output, then discussing the role outside the teacher preparation circle, investing knowledge and anticipating the role of scientific societies, making local and international partnerships, in addition to measuring the harmony and integration of roles between colleges of education and public education in exploiting opportunities and overcoming challenges.
For his part, the Dean of the College of Education, Dr. Badr Al-Dalan, pointed out that organizing events and activities on World Education Day contributes to highlighting the importance of education and the challenges it faces. From this perspective, and sensing its responsibilities, the university decided to launch the first celebration of this occasion by holding this forum and inviting the leaders of knowledge colleges (colleges of education - colleges of education), and directors general of education in the Kingdom's regions, and work was done to prepare and prepare this event under the guidance of the UQU President to make this event a perfect way to come out.
