The College of Rehabilitation Medicine at the university held the «Fourth Scientific Research Forum» for the college's students today, Monday, under the patronage of His Excellency Professor Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, President of the university, and in the presence of His Excellency the Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Mohammed bin Fahd Al-Sharikh, His Excellency the Vice President, Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Saoui, His Excellency the Vice President for Educational Affairs, Dr. Fahad bin Suleiman Al-Ahmed, His Excellency the Vice President for Planning, Development, and Quality, Professor Dr. Khalid bin Bani Al-Harbi, Her Excellency the Vice President for Student Affairs, Dr. Nawal bint Saleh Al-Thuwayni, a number of deans, male and female deans, and college staff and students at the university city's conference center.
The forum included 11 scientific lectures and 25 research posters by college students. It also covered several topics, including: discussion of neurorehabilitation cases and stroke patients, musculoskeletal rehabilitation and sports injuries, the role of physical therapy and medical rehabilitation for cardiac and pulmonary patients, in addition to advanced topics in medical rehabilitation, and discussion on how to access the latest scientific research and provide healthcare through evidence-based practice.
The Dean of the College, Dr. Ashwaq bint Saleh Al-Shureidah, explained that the university has consistently strived since its inception to achieve and solidify ambitious goals and strategies. In continuation of these objectives and in belief of the importance of development and excellence, and in pursuit of the strategies set by the university administration, the university has given great attention to scientific research. Based on the college's vision and mission, and in line with the university's strategic direction and objective, the college has been keen to motivate faculty members and female students to conduct original and innovative research that contributes to enriching knowledge and serves society. She pointed out that the organization of this fourth scientific forum for the college's male and female students aims to raise their level of awareness and showcase their creativity and research achievements in their field of specialization, physical therapy. This reflects the college's keenness to increase the research skills of male and female students. She affirmed that this year's forum was distinguished by the invitation of distinguished external speakers in the field of scientific research.
She added: This year's participation has increased by 90%% compared to previous years; the submissions were reviewed by the scientific committee, and 25 research posters and 11 scientific lectures were approved, presented by students, alumnae, and faculty members of the college.
