His Excellency Prof. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, President of the University, visited the Buraydah Dates Carnival on Thursday morning, in the presence of His Excellency the Director General of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture Branch in the region, Engineer Abdulaziz Al-Ruwaiji, His Excellency the University Vice President for Educational Affairs, Dr. Fahad Al-Ahmad, and the Dean of the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, Prof. Saleh Al-Huwairini.

 

During the visit, His Excellency was briefed on the carnival's exhibitions and accompanying events, in addition to the main date market, praising the services provided by all carnival workers and its role in boosting the local economy and contributing to supporting farmers and marketing national food products, expressing his thanks and appreciation to His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Meshal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Qassim Region, and His Royal Highness Prince Fahd bin Turki bin Faisal bin Turki, Deputy Governor of Qassim Region, for their attention to all activities in the region, including the date carnival, may Allah protect them.

 

During his visit, Mr. Al-Dawood was also briefed on the university's participating exhibition "The Palm", which includes a complete pavilion about the university and the palm tree. His Excellency listened to an explanation from the Dean of the College about the corners of the exhibition and the services it offers to visitors, reflecting the university's keenness on this tree, and the exhibition provides a detailed explanation of the university's most important achievements in the field of serving the palm tree, in terms of its interest in scientific studies and research related to it, its cultivation, pest resistance, date processing and its types and by-products.
