His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Qassim Province, received the Qassim University football team on Monday, March 27, 2023, on the occasion of winning the Saudi Universities Sports Federation Football Championship Cup for the fourth time in its history. This victory came after defeating the University of Al-Baha team 3-0 in the final match. The reception, held in His Highness's office at the governorate, was attended by His Excellency Professor Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawoud, President of the University, His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Fahad Al-Sharakh, Vice President for Educational Affairs, and His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al-Ajlan, Dean of Student Affairs.
His Highness the Emir of Al-Qassim praised, during his reception of the team's players and the technical and administrative staff, the distinguished level of the university team in the championship and the achievement of this accomplishment, which is added to the university's national achievements. He emphasized that it will be a driving force to achieve more accomplishments in various fields and occasions.
The Qassim University team went through the tournament without a loss until they reached the final, which saw intense competition between the two teams amidst a large fan turnout. The university team deservedly won the championship following the high level of play demonstrated by its players throughout both halves of the match, marking their fourth title in history. The university had participated in 7 finals since commencing its involvement in this tournament.
