The University, represented by the Department of Optometry at the College of Applied Medical Sciences, concluded its participation in the seventh Saudi Optometry Conference in Riyadh, which was organized by the Saudi Optometry Association over 3 days and concluded its activities yesterday, Saturday, 26/3/1444 A.H. The two students, Mohammed Saad Al-Nafea and Mohammed Fahad Al-Harbi from the Department of Optometry, won the best scientific research participating in the students' presentation sessions at the conference.
The university's participation came through the implementation of a number of scientific lectures and workshops presented by university faculty members, in addition to the participation of a number of students with published lectures and research. At the end of the ceremony, the university was honored for its role in the success of the conference, and the shield was handed to Dr. Sulaiman bin Abdulaziz Al-Dakhil, Head of the Department of Optometry at the College of Applied Medical Sciences.
During the conference, the university also held an accompanying exhibition at the College of Applied Medical Sciences that showcased the efforts of the Department of Optometry and the student club in the field of optics, in addition to the community participation carried out by the department to serve the community, and a number of informational brochures about the university in general and the Doctor of Optometry program at the university.
The conference featured many lectures, workshops and scientific publications related to optometry and optometry, in addition to an exhibition of several medical companies, and discussed a number of topics including: Examination and treatment of eye diseases, correction of refractive defects, the latest developments in severe visual impairment, diagnosis and treatment of pediatric vision issues, and combating visual impairment.
