UQU organizes a workshop on "Rationalizing Energy Consumption in Government Entities"

The Qassim University Agency, represented by the Standing Committee for Energy Management, organized a workshop yesterday, Monday corresponding to Rabi" al-Awwal 7, 1444 AH, titled "Rationalizing Energy Consumption in Government Agencies," in cooperation with the Saudi Energy Efficiency Center. The workshop was attended by a number of university staff and was held in the auditorium of the College of Applied Medical Sciences at the main campus in the university city.

 

 

During the workshop, Professor Badr Al-Shehri, Official of Awareness and Public Relations at the Saudi Center for Energy Efficiency, spoke. He addressed a number of topics, including: energy consumption in the Kingdom, the most energy-consuming sectors, as well as royal orders to achieve energy efficiency improvement. He also provided some tips and guidance for reducing consumption in government entities, such as air conditioning, lighting, and government vehicles.

 

The workshop included a presentation by Dr. Talal Al-Harbi, a faculty member at the College of Engineering, titled "Energy Management and Efficiency." During his presentation, he emphasized the role of institutions in energy conservation, raising awareness on how to rationalize consumption, and optimal investment in high-efficiency devices. He stated that the university strives to achieve high efficiency in its energy consumption and undertakes research and development in new technologies to solve consumption problems. He also explained that the university, represented by the College of Engineering, offers distinguished bachelor's and master's degree programs in the field of energy and its efficiency, a joint master's program in renewable energy, as well as specialized training programs.

 

For his part, His Excellency the Vice President, Dr. Mohammed Al-Saoui, received representatives from the Saudi Energy Efficiency Center during their visit to the university city to present this workshop, in the presence of members of the Permanent Committee for Energy Management at the university.
