The University, represented by the Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Education, received the Blackboard Global Award in "Excellence in Leading Change 2022" from the Blackboard International Foundation in the United States of America, which is awarded to institutions that have developed their practices related to e-learning and educational technologies in a way that contributes to improving learning outcomes, student performance or academic progress, as this award is classified as the highest global awards in the field of e-learning and educational technologies, for universities and educational institutions that have used Blackboard solutions in educational innovation through unconventional initiatives that help develop
Qassim University was selected for this award in recognition of the university's contributions to developing and modernizing the mechanisms of using and employing e-learning system tools in improving the educational process and solving the associated obstacles through unconventional innovative solutions based on Blackboard tools, which contributed to increasing the efficiency of learning and developing the mechanisms of its delivery.
For his part, the Dean of the Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Education, Dr. Saad bin Mubarak Al-Dosari, explained: This award aims to support innovation and excellence in the community of e-learning practices through the Blackboard system globally, by studying the practices and experiences of many international universities in the United States, Europe, Asia and Africa, and selecting and honoring the best of these experiences during the year.
Al-Dosari added that the most prominent developmental contributions of the university that were nominated for this award were the use of the electronic learning management system in postgraduate studies to facilitate communication between the professor and the researcher, the use of learning management system tools in implementing academic counseling programs for students, and the establishment of electronic platforms through the Blackboard system to present and manage various student activities, whether cultural, scientific, social, artistic, religious, and other activities.
The university has been active in providing platforms dedicated to providing electronic exams for all college students on the Blackboard system, integrating the e-library services on it to make the e-library services available to university affiliates on the Blackboard platform, as well as providing virtual platforms for the faculties of human medicine in the form of virtual educational medical clinics open to each specialty, in addition to allocating electronic platforms for educational communication for each college through the Blackboard system, enabling colleges to communicate quickly and thoroughly with all their students through this system.
Al-Dosari said that the university has worked on providing electronic platforms through the applications and tools of the Blackboard system to hold discussions of the scientific research plan "Seminar", discuss scientific theses (PhD-Masters), employ the tools of the system in organizing various educational events "scientific seminars, educational forums, scientific conferences", use its various applications in providing remote training programs and courses, create electronic platforms to hold meetings of committees, departments and college councils, employ its tools in providing live technical support services to students and professors, and provide the techniques of this system in serving the community by providing
