His Excellency Prof. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, President of the University, inaugurated this morning, Wednesday, 29/7/1443 A.H., the University's exhibition on the occasion of celebrating the anniversary of Foundation Day, organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs in the main lobby of the University City, in the presence of His Excellency the Vice President for Educational Affairs, Dr. Muhammad Al-Sharekh, His Excellency the Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Ahmed Al-Turki, His Excellency the Vice President for Planning, Development and Quality, Prof. Khaled Al-Harbi, and several members of the University Council.
The exhibition, in which a number of male and female students participated, contained 26 different corners to introduce the founding day and the history of Diriyah and the Saudi state, as well as a simulation of the market and the council at that time, in addition to a special corner on the scientific life in Diriyah at the time of the founding, writing tools and science preservation, and a corner for artworks by female students, where the exhibition included 48 paintings with the participation of 6 female students' painters for direct live painting.
Following the opening of the exhibition, UQU President toured the exhibition's corners and viewed the Museum of Tools and Materials for Education in the First Saudi State. He listened to an explanation by Dr. Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Saikhan, a faculty member at the Department of History at the College of Arabic Language and Social Studies, about the various corners of the exhibition, which reviewed the royal order for Foundation Day, the history of the Saudi State, the details of the Foundation Day logo, the difference between Foundation Day and National Day, and the details of the Foundation Day logo of the palm tree, horses, falconry and science in the era of the first Saudi State.
The exhibition also addressed the most prominent events of the founding, as well as the founder, Imam Muhammad bin Saud, and his achievements, the capital of Diriyah, the roots of the founding, settlement centers, the most prominent emirs of Diriyah Emirate, the founding community, scientific life, the culture of the founding, the Saudi show, the market in the era of the first Saudi state, and the founding in the words of the kings.
