The voluntary dental convoys of the College of Dentistry at the university, in cooperation with the Deanship of Community Service, organized their twenty-ninth convoy. It headed to the Quba center on Sunday, 20/6/1443 AH, and provided its services to beneficiaries until Thursday, 24/6/1443 AH, at the Quba Celebrations Center, as part of the university's initiative to activate the initiative of His Highness the Emir of the region, "I am Saudi, I am proud of my identity.".
The convoy included 191 male and female volunteers, including consultants, specialists, doctors, interns, male and female students. The services provided by the convoy over 5 days included opening files and treating 547 patients in various male and female clinics. The clinics included the following specialties: 2 examination clinics, a fillings clinic, pediatric dentistry, surgery, and gum treatment, totaling 18 clinics.
The convoy also included an educational component to raise community awareness about dental diseases and prevention methods. Seven schools were visited, and awareness and educational services were provided to 639 male and female students, as well as consultations and awareness-raising regarding dental problems for the students.
For his part, the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Dr. Zafir Al-Asmari, explained that this caravan comes within the university's initiative to activate the campaign of His Highness the Prince of Al-Qassim Region to promote national identity, "I am Saudi, I am proud of my identity." He pointed out that it is an extension of the series of voluntary caravans implemented by the college within the Voluntary Dental Caravans program, which aims to provide voluntary dental services to remote areas in Al-Qassim to promote oral and dental health.
Al-Asmari explained that these convoys provide distinguished therapeutic and educational services to community members, in line with international quality standards. They also contribute to spreading the culture of volunteer work among students and work on preparing a generation of dentists who are creative in the field of voluntary work. The number of convoys launched by the program so far has reached 29, with more than 35,000 beneficiaries, and over 1,000 male and female volunteers have participated.
