Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Education, Dr. Azzam Al-Dakheel, the university is organizing the ”College of Sharia and Islamic Studies Forum: A Journey and Achievements 1396-1436 AH” tomorrow morning, Sunday, corresponding to 7/7/1436 AH. .
The forum organized by the college includes a desire to highlight its efforts in education, scientific research, and community service, from its inception in 1396 AH to the present day. It features many accompanying events, including a symposium and panel discussions under the title ”College of Sharia and Islamic Studies: Development, Reality, and Aspirations,” followed by two panel discussions. Additionally, there will be the second exhibition of scientific output by the college's faculty members, and a career day exhibition, which is the first of its kind to be held at colleges of Sharia. The forum will also distribute a number of research papers and theses by the college's professors and postgraduate students. Furthermore, former deans of the college will be honored in recognition of their efforts.
Your Excellency, the University President, Professor Dr. Khalid bin Abdulrahman Al-Hamoudi, valued the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Education for the gathering. He affirmed that holding a scientific forum to review the journey of the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies over forty years transcends its superficial meaning to an implicit meaning based on affirming the principles upon which this blessed country was founded in patronizing and caring for religious knowledge.
His Excellency pointed out that the establishment date of the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies at Qassim University marks a milestone in the history of higher education in the Qassim region, as the college is an important nucleus for higher education in the region.Click this linkSquat .
The Dean of Qassim University said: "This college has interacted with the community scientifically and culturally, including the efforts of a group of esteemed scholars who contribute with lectures, writings, consultations, and fatwas. It has also contributed to the advancement of community education by graduating thousands of qualified students in Sharia sciences who have served their nation in many capacities, such as working in judiciary, teaching, and administrative positions, or by authoring books, research, and scientific studies in Sharia sciences, or contributing to postgraduate studies at the Master's and Doctoral levels.".
Dean of the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies, His Excellency Professor Dr. Waleed bin Ali Al-Hussein, affirmed that the forum highlights the stages of the college's establishment, its inception, development, achievements, and its various contributions to serving religion and the nation since its founding. The college strives to fulfill its academic mission and achieve the objectives for which it was established by carefully teaching specialized Sharia sciences and qualifying its students according to a well-established scientific methodology. The college has played a prominent role in this, evident in several areas. The college, along with its counterparts, has contributed and continues to contribute to serving various government sectors, as its graduates are appointed in numerous fields, most notably: the judiciary and judicial bodies, administrative courts, public prosecution and investigation authorities, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Da'wah and Guidance, the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, general education, law, and religious guidance in a number of government departments, among others. A number of its graduates have assumed leadership positions, made distinguished contributions, and had a profound impact.
Dr. Al-Hussein added: "The college also plays a prominent role in serving the community through various scientific programs, including: holding specialized scientific lectures and seminars at home and abroad, delivering sermons, enriching scientific research, especially on contemporary issues and developments and clarifying their rulings, participating in Hajj awareness programs organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, providing Sharia consultations, and others.".
Among the college's endeavors in fulfilling its mission are organizing scientific conferences and seminars, supporting scientific research in Sharia sciences, and taking care of printing academic theses and specialized research in various Islamic fields.
Dr. Al-Hussain emphasized that the college is making efforts for the comprehensive development of all its programs in accordance with the requirements of the age and the needs of society. The college has developed its strategic plan and its executive plan, and is keen to cooperate with its counterparts in the Islamic world. The college has also expanded its admission of scholarship students from various countries of the Islamic world in its academic programs at all levels: PhD, Master's, and Bachelor's.
The Dean of the College affirmed that they, as a team, strive to ensure the college remains a source of radiance and pride, a lofty beacon, a pure spring, a towering tree, and a pioneering role in achieving its goals, providing its services, and diversifying its programs, in light of the attention given to education by the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, may God protect him.
