The university issues a clarifying statement on the requirements for a safe return to in-person classes and emphasizes the need to complete the two vaccine doses

This morning, Sunday, 7/1/1443 AH, the university issued a clarifying statement regarding the safe return to in-person studies across all university faculties, based on the statement issued by the Ministry of Education and in accordance with the royal order to return to in-person studies in public education institutions, universities, and technical training for the academic year 1443 AH. In its statement, the university emphasized that all its students and staff must take all precautionary measures and preventive measures, stressing that those who have not completed their doses of the Coronavirus vaccine will not be allowed to participate in the educational process.

The university stated in its statement the requirements for a safe return to campus based on the “Tawakkalna” application. Students and all university staff must complete both doses of the Coronavirus vaccine before coming to the university. The statement revealed that unvaccinated students or those who have not completed both vaccine doses will not be allowed to attend. In such cases, students must address their academic situation according to the regulations for undergraduate studies and examinations by deferring or apologizing. Otherwise, they will be considered absent in the academic system and will need to request re-enrollment for the following semester according to the academic calendar.

The university statement clarified that students must follow and implement the precautionary measures issued by the competent authority at the university. Students must also follow their academic schedule through their personal page to know lecture times. It indicated that the college may combine in-person and distance learning as stipulated by the competent authority at the university. The college will also determine the attendance percentages for courses in the academic schedule, as issued by the Vice Presidency for Academic Affairs. New students must also adhere to the early registration dates and the add/drop periods for their college, which will be announced by the Deanship of Admission and Registration at the university starting Tuesday, 1/9/1443 AH, corresponding to 8/17/2021 AD.

In addition, new students will be automatically registered by the Deanship of Admissions and Registration, and attendance and academic violations will be calculated, along with other academic controls and procedures as stipulated in the academic calendar and the undergraduate study and examination regulations. Students who complete their two doses of the Coronavirus vaccine late will be subject to the regulations and laws concerning absence and denial of exams. The academic average and the evaluation of courses will be calculated according to the undergraduate study and examination regulations. All exams are in-person (midterm, final, and practical).

The university also confirmed that these requirements will apply to all preparatory programs and all academic degrees at the university (graduate studies, bachelor's, and diploma) during the upcoming academic year, urging everyone to quickly complete their vaccine doses for a safe return to the classroom.
