Under the patronage of His Excellency the President of the University The Deanship of Student Affairs holds its annual student activities ceremony to honor outstanding clubs and students

His Excellency Professor Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Daud, President of the University, said: “We must be proud of the great efforts and wisdom shown by our wise government, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his Crown Prince – may God protect them – in confronting the Corona pandemic. He pointed out that the Kingdom, thanks to God and the efforts of its various institutions and ministries during this crisis, has proven to be one of the most successful countries in the world in controlling this virus. He affirmed that the university, as one of the institutions of this dear nation, has succeeded in conducting academic and administrative work remotely with great competence, owing to its capabilities and the sincere efforts of its staff.”.

This came during His Excellency's sponsorship of the annual student activities festival, which was organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs at the university on Wednesday, June 14, 1442 AH, in the main hall of the university city, in accordance with the precautionary measures in place. The event was attended by a number of university leaders, including the Vice President Dr. Mohammed Al-Sawe, the Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Mohammed Al-Adheeb, the Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Turki, and the Vice President for Planning, Development, and Quality Prof. Dr. Khalid Al-Harbi. Al-Dawood extended his thanks to the deanship's staff for their efforts in organizing this annual festival, emphasizing that this celebration comes from their belief in appreciating, honoring, and thanking everyone who participated in activating, implementing, and following up on student activities during this year.

The university president, in his speech, praised the university's significant role in confronting the Corona pandemic through awareness campaigns and the implementation of the required precautionary and preventive health measures. These measures were meticulously carried out by colleagues in the committees formed at the university since the beginning of the pandemic until today, praise be to God. All precautions were taken in the required manner and form, resulting in the past semester concluding without any issues related to the pandemic. He expressed his gratitude to all deans for their excellent organization during the period of remote learning and in-person examinations, which proceeded smoothly and successfully. He also commended the great efforts made by the Deanship of Student Affairs since the beginning of the crisis in professionally serving students in university housing.

Al-Dawood congratulated all university staff on obtaining the renewal of the university's institutional academic accreditation for the next seven years, saying: “This is a source of pride for all of us, and for the staff and students of Qassim University, before it is for us in the University Council. When a student joins an academically accredited university with full, unconditional accreditation, there is no doubt that they are proud of their university and it serves as a motivator and supporter for them to strive, excel, and graduate from this accredited university. He asks God Almighty to lift this pandemic from our country and the countries of the world, to preserve the security and safety of our country and its wise leadership, and to grant us continued prosperity and development.”

The ceremony included a review of the year's most important achievements in student activities. Clubs that received university shields were honored, as were student volunteers who participated in the Coronavirus pandemic from the Rover Club and the Volunteer Club. The ceremony also featured a video presentation by the Deanship of Student Affairs, which highlighted various partnerships centered on male and female students. Additionally, a visual presentation detailed the stages of serving the skills record, along with a film showcasing the Deanship of Student Affairs' efforts to combat the Coronavirus pandemic within student housing. The esteemed University President toured the accompanying booths at the ceremony, which comprised 12 stations detailing the university's and the deanship's achievements and various services. Furthermore, 38 artworks created by university students were displayed.

His Excellency the President of the University, Dr. Ali bin Fraih Al-Aqla, honored the former Dean of Student Affairs, and the student volunteers during the Corona pandemic from the Rover's Club, who are: Ziyad bin Fahd Al-Nomsi, Tariq bin Ayish Al-Harbi, Abdulrahman bin Ibrahim Al-Enezi, Rakan bin Shayaa Al-Shayaa, Khalid bin Fahd Al-Harbi, Ayoub bin Abdullah Al-Harbi, and Iyad bin Mohammed Al-Tuwaijri, in addition to honoring the student volunteers from the Student Volunteer Club during the Corona pandemic, who are: Omar bin Abdulaziz Al-Sallal, Abdulaziz bin Fahd Al-Salami, Abdullah bin Fahd Al-Salami, Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Khoiter, Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al-Ameri, and Abdullah bin Fahd Al-Yahya.

The outstanding student Ziad bin Fahd Al-Nomsi was honored at the Scouts Club. He has served over 7,640 volunteer hours over six years, participating in public service camps during the Umrah and Hajj seasons. He also served scholarship students in student housing during the pandemic. The outstanding student Rayan bin Suleiman Al-Yahya was honored at the Student Volunteer Club, having served over 4,720 volunteer hours over six years.

Next, His Excellency honored the outstanding clubs in student activities during the academic year. The colleges that received the Diamond Shield were honored: the College of Engineering, the College of Medicine, and the College of Dentistry. The clubs that received the Golden Shield were: the College of Applied Medical Sciences, the College of Science and Arts in Mudhnib, and the College of Education. The clubs that received the Silver Shield were: the College of Science and Arts in Al-Rass, the College of Science, and the College of Medicine and Medical Sciences in Unaizah. The clubs that received the Bronze Shield were: the Community College in Buraidah, the College of Science and Arts in Uqlat Al-Suqoor, and the College of Arabic Language and Social Studies.
