His Excellency Prof. Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, President of the University, affirmed that teachers have proven that they perform an educational and educational role that is difficult for others to perform in all circumstances and in all locations and conditions, especially in light of the exceptional circumstances we have gone through since the beginning of this year, represented by the outbreak of the Corona virus, God save us and you from it, and remove this epidemic from us and the whole world, pointing out the importance of the role of the teacher and what we should do towards him, whether we are parents or parents in general, or specialists in the educational field, or affiliates of educational institutions.
This came during the university's celebration, represented by the College of Education, on Monday, 18/2/1442 A.H., of the World Remote Teacher's Day under the slogan "Tebela", and under the title "Teachers: Leadership in Crises Reimagining the Future", with the participation of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for General Education, Dr. Mohammed bin Saud Al-Mustaqbal, in the presence of the Vice President for Educational Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Al-Obayeb, the Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Ahmed Al-Turki, the Vice President for Development, Planning and Quality, Prof. Khaled Al-Harbi, the Vice President for Female Student Affairs, Dr. Nawal Al-Thuwaini, and a number of deans of colleges and deanships at the university, the Director General of Qassim Education, Mr. Mohammed Al-Freih, deans of colleges of education in the Kingdom, university employees and teachers and educators.
During his speech on this occasion, Al-Dawood explained that the university celebrates Teacher's Day because it senses the importance of the role played by the teacher, noting that we, through our universities and educational institutions, must emphasize this important role, as the exceptional circumstances experienced by the world have proven that the teacher performs educational and educational roles that cannot be performed by others, as he is the center of the educational process, and it also became clear to parents the important and difficult role that the teacher was playing, and many felt through following their sons and daughters at home the responsibility performed by the teacher and the burden on his shoulders towards this noble mission
His Excellency said: We in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are proud of our wise leadership, which has made clear to the whole world its great role and the clear successes achieved by the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and His Highness the Crown Prince - may God protect them - in managing this crisis that proves between one day and another, and one month and another that the Kingdom has surpassed international countries in containing this crisis and the success of the education message, and ensuring the continuation of the educational process through various means, including satellite channels and other means, with the support of our wise government and the Minister of Education Dr. Hamad Al Sheikh, his colleagues deputies, undersecretaries and their efforts that have had a positive impact on the country.
The university president also welcomed the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Public Education, the Director General of Qassim Education, Mr. Mohammed Al-Furaih, the deans of the colleges of education in the Kingdom, and all participants and attendees, asking Allah to grant success and success to all in their participation in these events.
After that, the activities of the first day of the university's celebrations of the teacher began with an open meeting with His Excellency the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for General Education, Dr. Mohammed bin Saud Al-Muqbel, who stressed the importance of the role of the teacher as a basic pillar of the educational process, stressing that teacher development is very important, as the Corona pandemic gave us lessons learned, including the role shown by the Saudi teacher in dealing with the pandemic, which is an unconventional role that the world attests to, and teachers through their adaptation to distance learning, which contributed to a very great success.
"Al-Muqbel" explained that the ministry, with the support of our wise government, had a great role in continuing the educational service in the Kingdom that was not interrupted by providing platforms and television channels, which is a lesson that must be utilized in crisis management, noting that the Ministry of Education sought early planning to work in light of the pandemic since its beginning and the issuance of the royal order to stop curfew and attendance study, as the Kingdom was one of the few countries that managed within 8 hours to broadcast 14 channels from the second day directly and worked to provide educational service for its sons and daughters, and this work began to increase according to the plans prepared by the ministry.
He praised the role of the teacher who proved his excellence, as we did not need a long time in the issue of equipping teachers to deliver lessons through satellite and electronic platforms, noting that today we have my school platform witnessing another success for our country thanks to God Almighty, and the concerted efforts of the blessed state, the ministry and the teacher element in the issue of supporting the educational process with his effort, proving that the Saudi citizen and teacher are ready to use technology and deal with it.
He added that the Ministry of Education has made great efforts to support the teacher by establishing the National Institute for Professional Development, which is one of the important tributaries to support the educational process, in addition to the issuance of the teacher's regulation that came into effect and will have a great role in developing the performance of the teacher, who will be the main pillar of the educational process. He also extended his thanks and appreciation to the teachers for what they presented, and sent a message of thanks to His Excellency the University President and the staff of the College of Education for organizing this meeting and the participation of the education directors in the region in this celebration.
For his part, the Dean of the College of Education, Dr. Khalid Al-Humaidi, welcomed the attendees, stressing that the teacher is the maker of generations, the builder of the personalities and values of society, and the one who protects patriotism and opens the eyes to see the beauty of the homeland: Shouldn't we stand up for them and honor them?
Al-Humaidi pointed out the need to stand with teachers to perform their eternal educational mission to the fullest, and this meeting demonstrates the Ministry of Education's interest in the teacher and everything that concerns him, raises his morale and enhances his ability to perform his mission with high professionalism, and contributes to honoring him and enhancing his professional feelings, through a set of activities and programs, including lectures and workshops in community partnership with the teacher-related parties, in addition to an electronic exhibition accompanying the event.
