His Excellency the President of Qassim University, Professor Dr. Khalid bin Abdulrahman Al-Hamoudi, signed a cooperation agreement this Sunday afternoon, 2/1/1436 AH, with His Excellency the Executive Supervisor of King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre in Riyadh, Dr. Qassem bin Othman Al-Qasbi. The agreement is a service contract between the College of Pharmacy at the university's main campus and the Pharmacy Care Department at the hospital, signed in the hospital's meeting hall. .

Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Dr. Mansour bin Saleh Al-Sharidah, indicated that this contract comes within the framework of the university's plan to expand the horizons of scientific cooperation and the quality of university education, especially since King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Riyadh possesses distinguished professional expertise in the field of clinical pharmacy, where more than thirty clinical pharmacists of Saudi, American, and British nationalities work. It is considered one of the first to offer general clinical pharmacy residency programs, and it also offers three specialized clinical pharmacy programs in organ transplantation, heart disease, and total parenteral nutrition, accredited by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties and the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists.

He pointed out that the college needs to benefit from those experiences in the field of clinical pharmacy, where it was agreed to train male and female university students in the internship phase at the hospital's headquarters in Riyadh. Dr. Al-Sharida confirmed that the agreement aims to hone students' practical skills and create healthcare professionals and leaders who will significantly contribute to raising the standard of healthcare. He concluded by expressing his deep thanks and great appreciation for the support and blessing of His Excellency the President of Qassim University, Professor Dr. Khalid bin Abdulrahman Al-Hamoudi for this contract and his continuous and ongoing support for the College of Pharmacy and its educational journey. He also thanked His Excellency Professor Dr. Sulaiman bin Abdulaziz Al-Yahya, Vice President of Qassim University for Planning, Development, and Quality, for his support and assistance regarding this contract. Additionally, he thanked His Excellency the Executive Supervisor of the Hospital, Dr. Qassim Al-Qasbi, and Dr. Ahmed bin Hamdan Al-Jedai, Director General of the Pharmaceutical Care Sector at the hospital, for their positive cooperation with the college, providing support and advice, and making this contract a success so that it appears in its final form. They hope that it will yield the desired results and provide a distinguished scientific addition for the college's male and female students. .

This will have a positive impact on the educational and learning outcomes planned by the university, which has graciously made its resources available to the college administration to achieve this goal. With this contract, the college has chosen King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh, which is considered one of the leading hospitals in the Gulf and the Middle East in applying the concept of clinical pharmacy care. The clinical pharmacist plays an active role in the medical team, applying their pharmaceutical expertise to ensure the safe and correct use of medication based on each patient's health status and medical and treatment history. This is also achieved through specialized clinical pharmacy clinics, such as organ transplantation clinics, cardiology and thrombosis, intensive care for the elderly, children, and infants, surgery, infectious diseases, immunodeficiency, oncology, and hematology. Therefore, through all these specializations, the best pharmaceutical care is provided to patients, creating an ideal and suitable environment for the college's male and female students to apply this concept in practice.
