Yesterday, Sunday, 26/12/1441 A.H., the university approved the study mechanism in the first semester of the next academic year 1442 A.H., in accordance with what was approved by the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom, and out of the university's concern for the health and safety of male and female students and all its affiliates, including faculty members and employees, and to ensure that all the requirements of the educational process are met under these exceptional circumstances in the face of the danger of the spread and outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic pandemic.
The new mechanism also allows the college to present some theoretical lectures in person, if the college deems it necessary, as this step is taken after the approval of the dean of the college, within the narrowest limits and in accordance with the preventive measures followed, provided that the study in the practical part of the courses will be in person, as well as practical and clinical courses, and the concerned college will make arrangements for this in accordance with the preventive measures followed, and the annual system will be treated as the unique system.
For his part, the UQU Vice President for Educational Affairs, Dr. Muhammad Al-Oudaib, explained that all procedures and regulations related to the normal educational process will be applied according to the regulations and executive rules governing them at Qassim University, pointing out that the grade of each course will be calculated according to what was previously approved by the College Council, and the grades obtained by the student in each course and the semester and cumulative average will be calculated according to the regulations and regulations followed at the university.
He pointed out that the calculation of absences and the adoption of deprivation will be done according to the executive rules governing the study and examination regulations for the university stage at the university (20%), and the calculation will be according to the attendance mechanism in the approved electronic platforms, stressing that all semester and final exams will be held in person with the application of all followed preventive measures and physical distancing according to a plan prepared by the college.
He added that the thesis defenses for the master's and doctoral stages will be held remotely, and stressed the need to adhere to the academic movements according to the announced academic calendar, stressing that this mechanism is subject to new circumstances and will be applied until the reason for it is no longer necessary.
