Awareness Exhibition at the University to promote traffic safety with the participation of 7 organizations

 

The University, represented by the College of Engineering, held an awareness exhibition to promote the culture of traffic safety for three days, starting on Monday, 30/6/1441 A.H., at the main lobby of the University City, with the participation of 7 entities from the University and outside, as part of the University's participation in the "Your Life is More Important" campaign, which is held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Meshal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Emir of Qassim Region, and continues for two weeks, with the aim of promoting the culture of traffic safety among the community in all cities, centers, and governorates of the region.

 

The Saudi Red Crescent participated in the exhibition through a corner that presented the ambulatory affairs departments in the field, training, volunteering, and attracting volunteers to serve the community, with the aim of health education and urging citizens to benefit from training and educational programs, in addition to distributing a number of brochures, publications, and gifts to visitors.

 

The Qassim Health Gathering also participated in a corner that explained how to perform CPR, stop bleeding, deal with fractures resulting from traffic accidents, and deal with those injured in traffic accidents until the arrival of the ambulance, with the participation of a number of specialists, in addition to the participation of the Qassim Traffic Department, with a corner to introduce the campaign, its objective, and the ideal driver award, in order to promote the culture of commitment to traffic regulations, and distribute a number of educational brochures to visitors.

 

In turn, the Qassim Education Department participated in a number of competitions with valuable prizes, through 4 tracks, namely: The awareness aspect through an awareness clip about the danger of using mobile phones while driving, the best application that preserves the safety of the driver while driving so that he does not use mobile phones while driving, in addition to the best logo for the campaign, and the best drawing about the importance of awareness of not using mobile phones while driving, and the competition was circulated to all schools for boys and girls through conditions and prizes, in addition to allocating 21 headquarters to hold awareness lectures for high school students.

 

For its part, the University Security Department participated with a pavilion in the exhibition with the aim of introducing the tasks of university security in organizing parking lots and regulating traffic inside the university city and at its entrances to facilitate the movement of students and employees, writing tickets for violators in accordance with the Kingdom's traffic system, helping damaged or stuck cars, and handling accidents on campus and transferring them to the competent authority.

 

The College of Engineering displayed a number of student projects at its pavilion at the exhibition, in addition to explaining the significance of traffic signs and a group of student participation in the field, including student projects, types of sidewalks and their color significance, awareness presentations on traffic safety and the need to adhere to safety rules such as using seat belts, child seats, not using mobile phones while driving, periodic vehicle maintenance, and other awareness videos that contribute to promoting and raising awareness of traffic safety.

 

The University Driving School also participated to clarify the available training programs and the method of registration for those interested, as well as the training paths and the mechanism for passing and obtaining a license.
