The university, represented by the Enterprise Architecture Office, held a workshop last Thursday, 7/5/1441, on «Information Technology Domains and Enterprise Architecture.» The workshop aimed to contribute to crystallizing the university's strategic directions in information technology domains as part of its efforts to prepare its strategic plan for 2020-2025. It also discussed ways to spread the concept of digital transformation by unifying several electronic systems under one umbrella, in addition to disseminating the concept of enterprise architecture to include spatial resources, human resources, and others.
The panel discussion, held at the university city headquarters, presented the most prominent IT and enterprise architecture areas that will lay the foundation for the university's plan in this field. Among the proposals was the university's vision for enterprise architecture as a prestigious university in education, scientific research, and community service, distinguished in improving administrative work, and enhancing investment opportunities by offering distinguished educational programs, prominent community partnerships, in addition to supporting and accelerating scientific research, business governance, and optimal utilization of resources (spatial, human, and digital).
The discussion panel concluded on the importance of business governance and procedures, and closing the loop by activating the concept of enterprise architecture, as well as the good utilization of information technology within the university and in all fields, in addition to the necessity of investing in the knowledge economy and producing qualitative scientific research that serves society.
The episode also addressed the importance of activating true partnerships, both internally and externally, focusing on how rather than how much (quality over quantity).
