The university witnessed, today Thursday, corresponding to 25/2/1441 AH, the signing ceremony of a memorandum of cooperation between the university and the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Biography Documentation Center, at the main hall of the university city, in the presence of the university's vice-presidents and a number of its staff.
The articles of the agreement, signed by Her Royal Highness Princess Adelah bint Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Excellency Professor Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, President of the university, stipulate cooperation between the two parties in the fields of publishing and research, sponsoring and organizing related events, as well as exchanging relevant data and information, exchanging expertise and competencies in the center's field of activity, and cooperating in implementing joint initiatives according to the set objectives, in addition to joint scientific events through discussion groups, seminars, scientific workshops, authorship, and scientific research and studies.
Her Highness Princess Adelah bint Abdullah spoke on this occasion, emphasizing that Qassim University is a distinguished, suitable, and stimulating environment for research and education. Her Highness said: "I am very pleased with the distinguished academic level the university has reached, and for this reason, we at the Center for Documenting the Biography of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz – may God have mercy on him – are proud that our first academic collaboration with universities is with Qassim University. God willing, there will be mutual benefits to achieve our common goals.".
For his part, His Excellency the President of the university expressed his happiness that Qassim University is the first university to sign a memorandum of cooperation with the center, emphasizing that the university is honored to sign this agreement, stating that it will reflect, God willing, on the professors and students of the university by introducing the center's contents and what it includes, as it represents an important part of the Kingdom's history, and God willing, the university will have a clear role in documenting the biography of King Abdullah - may God have mercy on him.
Al-Dawood explained that this agreement is part of the university's role in serving the community, emphasizing that the university is pleased to cooperate with all institutions and sectors of the community, saying: "We need to introduce our students to the work of the center, which will reflect on the university professors." He added: "On this occasion, we welcome all parties wishing to cooperate with Qassim University, stemming from its many responsibilities towards serving the community in all fields.".
For his part, the Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Ahmed Al-Turki, explained that the existence of a specialized scientific and research center dedicated to documenting the biography of one of history's greatest figures and one of kings' chosen men, represented by the person of the late King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, is of utmost importance. This is to preserve his biography and his diverse contributions in giving, building, and developing in all aspects of life over decades. He pointed out that the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Biography Documentation Center, with its administrative and scientific capabilities, is the best entity to undertake this task in an academic manner, in accordance with scientific and research principles.
After that, the Dean of the Deanship of Scientific Research, Dr. Mansour Al-Shareeda, spoke, emphasizing that the university's mission is based on three pillars: education, scientific research, and community service. Due to the great support the education sector receives from our wise government, the university has become nationally distinguished by obtaining institutional accreditation as the third university and the second public university in terms of nationally and internationally accredited programs. From this perspective, the university, under the direction of His Excellency the University President and the follow-up of the Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, welcomed the research and scientific partnership with the Center for Documenting the Biography of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz – may God have mercy on him – which is considered an informational source and a center for scientific and historical research and studies that contributes to documenting and highlighting King Abdullah's life, including his personal and professional biography, introducing his values, principles, priorities, and interests, and documenting all his works and achievements at all levels.
