University vice presidents: The cohesion between the wise leadership and the people has resulted in achievements and gains that make us proud of our homeland

The university vice-presidents extend their congratulations and blessings to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and his Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman – may God protect them – on the occasion of the Kingdom's celebration of the 89th National Day. They express their pride and honor in this precious anniversary, during which the Kingdom was unified by the Founder King, may God have mercy on him, and transformed in just a few short years into a great beacon whose light shines on the region and on the Arab and Islamic nations.

Dr. Muhammad Al-Saawi, the university's vice president, said: "Our National Day comes this year just days after the cowardly attack on our oil facilities. He stressed that this day comes to increase our steadfastness and solidarity more than ever before, and to affirm that we stand as one behind our leadership to protect our country and our sacred sites from every traitor and coward.".

Al-Saouai pointed out that war is a hateful word that no one likes and a bad word that no sane person wishes for, but if our lands are violated and our holy sites are attacked, it will not be in the interest of our enemies, and we will certainly not be an easy prey. This is driven by our trust in our Lord and our faith in Him, Almighty God, and our sure bet on the strength of our unity and our rallying around our leaders as a cohesive and solid force. The source of our strength lies in our pride in our religion and the honor of serving our holy sites, and in our confidence in our valiant and steadfast security men who defend our borders.

He added, "Our National Day this year, despite all the circumstances surrounding us, comes to affirm our determination to establish a strong and robust economy, driven by an ambitious vision that has made diversifying income sources and gradually reducing reliance on oil energy solely one of its most important strategic objectives. He affirmed that whoever attributes the major developmental phenomena in Saudi society solely to oil is deceiving himself, as many other societies have benefited from oil and the blessings of the land just as the Saudi society has, but they still remain in a miserable and very poor economic, developmental, and administrative situation. Oil alone does not create development without sound management that knows how to deal with it, invest it, and employ it correctly.".

The Vice President of the university explained that our wise government, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and his Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman – may God protect them – continues the stages of construction and development with serious developmental strides that proceed according to a comprehensive and clear vision to achieve what we all aspire to, leadership and people, for happiness, security, well-being, and a dignified life. He prayed to God to protect our country, its leadership, and its people from all harm, and to preserve it as a towering and cherished homeland forever.

For his part, Dr. Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Odhaib, Vice President of the University for Educational Affairs, noted that the National Day is a cherished national occasion that reminds us of the immortal day etched in the minds, hearts, and thoughts of every Saudi citizen, when the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was unified at the hands of the King – may God have mercy on him – His Majesty King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, the founder – may God have mercy on him.

Al-Adbhi stated that the Kingdom has achieved many national accomplishments and gains over the past decades, which have greatly contributed to the advancement of our dear homeland. He pointed out that during the prosperous era of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz – may God protect him – the Kingdom is experiencing a rapid economic pace and high future aspirations supported by Saudi Vision 2030, which the Kingdom has adopted as a roadmap for economic and developmental work in the Kingdom. Therefore, we must all feel our responsibilities towards our homeland and our God-protected leaders, and preserve its security and safety, as well as work and maintain national unity. He prayed to God Almighty to perpetuate security, safety, glory, and prosperity in our country and to preserve this entity standing tall under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his Crown Prince.

On his part, Dr. Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Turki, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, affirmed that on the 89th National Day, we remember the countless blessings bestowed upon us by God, the most important of which are the blessing of national stability, a prosperous life, strong national unity, and continuous development and progress. We must remind the nation's children, who grew up in security, safety, and prosperity, of our past state of fear, division, poverty, and misery until God blessed us with the unification of the nation by the founder, King Abdulaziz – may God have mercy on him.

And “Al-Turki” saw that among the things that must be instilled and entrenched in minds is that the sustainability of the blessing of security, stability, and prosperous living is dependent on the citizen fulfilling his responsibility towards these great blessings (and if you are grateful, I will surely increase you), and dependent on his practice of sincere citizenship.

He clarified that citizenship is not just a slogan that is proclaimed, a poem that is composed, or an article that is written. Rather, it is words and actions that translate the citizen's true contribution to preserving the achievements of their homeland, striving to develop and sustain them. A sign of sincere citizenship is that the citizen, wherever they are, is certain that they are responsible for preserving the blessings bestowed upon the homeland through their practices and actions. Another sign of sincere citizenship is that educational institutions play their assigned role in raising generations on genuine piety and sincere belonging to the homeland, safeguarding their minds and thoughts from extremism or negligence, and adhering to moderation and balance in speech and action.

He added that among the signs of true citizenship is performing one's job in the public or private sector with quality and mastery. Among its signs is preserving the nation's achievements, wealth, and public facilities such as parks, gardens, and establishments. Among the signs of shining citizenship is embodying the noble values that the true religion brought, such as honesty, trustworthiness, and justice, giving everyone their due, spreading tolerance and good manners, and rejecting fanaticism and racism.

Among these is also respecting the regulations and laws established by the state to achieve justice and preserve the safety of citizens. Also among these is a sincere feeling of representing the homeland, whether inside or outside the Kingdom and in every club and arena. Nothing should emanate from them except what honors their homeland and portrays a good image of it. To the extent that we fulfill the requirements of sincere citizenship, we contribute to preserving its entity, sustaining its achievements, and ensuring its continued development and prosperity.

Asking God Almighty to bestow upon our leadership, our homeland, and our citizens security and faith, and to suppress our enemy and grant victory to our soldiers and security forces, and to perpetuate prosperity, security, and stability in our country.

The Vice President for Planning, Development, and Quality, Professor Dr. Khalid bin Bani Al-Oufi Al-Harbi, said: Our dear homeland is rejoicing these days with its eighty-ninth celebration, as it is adorned in the garb of pride, progress, and prosperity. The patriots extend their sincerest congratulations and most beautiful blessings, under its auspices which have bestowed upon them abundant good, and blessings and comfortable living thanks to God Almighty, which is indeed beautiful. The most beautiful sentiments to offer are the sincerest, and the sweetest love for our homeland... a great leadership and a generous people.

Al-Harbi emphasized that our homeland has built values, thought, and character through its people, and nurtured them like a caring mother who looks after her children and showers them with sustenance and blessings so they may be filial to her, and with their resolve and efforts, build what will take them to the peak and glory with all pride, challenge, and determination, under this tender shade.

He added that this day comes under exceptional circumstances for an exceptional homeland. A homeland that stood between its enemies, envious and hateful, and its children, to guarantee them a decent life and bear all aggressions from those who lie in wait or stray, which weighs down its children to return a part, even if small, of this favor, which has few parallels, and which encircles their necks.

Al-Harbi pointed out that, with this beautiful event for a more beautiful homeland, we can only respond with love and loyalty, care for it as it has cared for us, and be an impenetrable fortress for it, so that no harm comes from us. He prayed to God Almighty to keep our homeland standing tall in glory, striving for the highest, under the leadership of our Imam, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman – may God protect them.
