The University, represented by the Leadership and Capacity Development Center, implemented the preparation program for new faculty members on Wednesday, 5/1/1441 A.H., for two days, at the Center's headquarters in the Excellence Hall for men and the Development Hall for women, with the participation of 75 faculty members of both sexes from different colleges of the university.
The program started by welcoming the new faculty members and introducing them to the tasks of the new employees at the university by the Deanship of Faculty Members and Employee Affairs, as well as the scientific research standards, mechanisms and methods, quality and accreditation standards at the university, research methods in the library, scientific tasks of the faculty member, regulations and procedures by the Secretariat of the Scientific Council. The program includes visiting the university facilities, the university library and its facilities, Qassim landmarks, a visual presentation on Blackboard and how to use it, and human rights culture.
For his part, Dr. Muneea Muhammad Al-Muneea, General Supervisor of the Leadership and Capacity Development Center, explained during his welcoming speech to the new members that the Leadership and Capacity Development Center at the university contributes to achieving the university's vision and implementing its mission and objectives within the framework of its established values, as the center works to implement programs that are derived from the actual needs of university employees to support their efforts, enrich their capabilities and improve their performance, based on a knowledge base derived from scientific and technological developments and the increasing knowledge accumulation in all fields, and therefore an integrated system of programs has been built that can be implemented within the capabilities of the development.
He added that this program comes under the directives of His Excellency Prof. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood and the UQU Vice Presidents, with the aim of preparing faculty members, based on the Center's slogan "Development is our responsibility, excellence is our goal, and we meet to rise." This slogan has been translated into an integrated training program for faculty members at the university, drawing its features from leading scientific writings, innovative training experiences, sincere national experiences, and urgent educational needs, wishing God success and success for all faculty members to serve the religion and the homeland.
It is worth mentioning that the center will hold the training program for new faculty members next Sunday, 9/1/1441 A.H., until Thursday, for five days, which will discuss the theories of education and university teaching, as well as issues of learning and university education, continuous improvement "kaizen", faculty member mission and roles, natural learning circle, skills of dealing with the media, drafting achievement tests, visual and practical presentation on Blackboard, confirmation of the program quality system, electronic skills in scientific research, drafting learning outcomes and tools to measure them, effective university teaching skills, and outcomes.
