H.H. the Emir of Qassim praises the university's participation in the Buraidah Dates Festival

His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Meshaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Qassim Region, praised the participation of Qassim University in the Buraydah Dates Festival, held at the Dates City headquarters in Buraydah. The university is participating with a pavilion featuring an exhibition about "The Palm Tree," organized by the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine at the university. He emphasized the excellence of the university's participation in various events, stating: "This is what we have come to expect from the university.".

His Highness the Emir of Al-Qassim inspected the university's pavilion participating in the festival and viewed the contents of "The Palm Tree" exhibition during his visit to the festival headquarters today, Wednesday, December 20, 1440 AH. His Highness expressed his admiration for the exhibition's contents, which were designed to tell the story of the university's support for the palm tree, its research, studies, publications on the palm tree, and the awareness and treatment tours provided by the university through the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, as well as international and local conferences it has participated in to highlight the role of the palm tree and its date products.

The "Palm Tree" exhibition also provides festival visitors with information about the red palm weevil convoys organized by the university to educate farmers and interested parties on methods of preventing this pest. It also offers various information on types of dates, their products, by-products, benefits, varieties, what the region is famous for in terms of dates, as well as what the Kingdom is famous for, methods of palm propagation, major insect and animal pests, control methods, major fungal diseases, irrigation systems, planting, and pollination, all presented in simplified information and realistic models.
