Under the patronage of His Excellency the President of Qassim University, Prof. Khalid bin Abdulrahman Al-Hamoudi, the College of Economics and Administration is organizing the Knowledge Economy Forum and the Future of Employment Opportunities in the Kingdom on Tuesday, 21 Safar 1435 H, corresponding to December 24, 2013 at the headquarters of the University City in Al-Malidah.
The forum aims to review regional and international experiences in the knowledge economy and the strategies in place to transform the Kingdom into a knowledge society, in addition to the initiatives of the Ministry of Higher Education and the role of science and technology in the knowledge society.
His Excellency the President of Qassim University emphasized that the knowledge economy is a strategic choice for the Kingdom, especially since it will provide 700,000 job opportunities according to World Bank estimates, which requires Saudi universities to participate actively
Al-Hamoudi explained that the organization of the forum comes in response to the importance of developing education towards the knowledge economy and the role of universities in building a knowledge-based economy in the Kingdom.

He pointed out that the share of knowledge economies in global GDP is equivalent to 7% and is growing at a rate of 10% per year according to estimates by the United Nations
Al-Mutairi said that the symposium will be attended by experts, academics and specialists, including the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education for Planning and Information, Dr. Abdul Qader Al-Fintoukh, and the Director of Dubai University, Dr. Issa Al-Bastaki, in addition to experts from UNESCO and others from inside and outside the Kingdom
Al-Mutairi pointed out that the college was keen to participate in the participation of the relevant private and public sectors, especially the Ministry of Economy and Planning, the Ministry of Higher Education, King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, in addition to the Knowledge Economic City and a number of technology valley companies in the Kingdom, explaining at the same time the importance of raising the community's awareness of the knowledge economy to achieve the community's benefit from the job opportunities it can provide.
