The university is participating in the second Al-Qassim Book Fair held at the International Exhibitions and Conferences Center with a booth providing visitors with an overview of the university library's print and electronic resources.
The university library's collection is estimated at 553,586 book titles, while periodicals and bound volumes reach 14,110. Additionally, there are 2,834 theses and dissertations, and 25 rare manuscripts. On the electronic side, the library hosts over 146 databases, 310,963 e-periodicals, 51,422 e-books, and 1,824,480 electronic theses and dissertations.
The university's participation includes displaying and selling its published refereed books and scientific journals, as well as showcasing the works of faculty members. Additionally, it will introduce the university and its shared electronic services through the Deanship of Library Affairs, which encompasses databases, electronic programs, documentation programs, plagiarism detection programs, journal indexing programs, and other electronic programs that serve university affiliates.
On his part, the Dean of the Deanship of Library Affairs at the university, Dr. Sattam Al-Otaibi, affirmed that the university is keen on community participation in the oasis of science and knowledge represented by the Book Fair. The university's efforts and its affiliates are showcased through its special pavilion participating in the exhibition. This is done by introducing visitors to the number of university branch libraries, the number of research papers published in university journals, the number of supported research papers, in addition to the number of university theses and manuscripts, and the number of postgraduate programs in all university faculties (Master's and Doctorate), through graphics displayed on the sides of the university's pavilion.
Al-Otaibi added that the university was keen for its pavilion at this year's exhibition to be among the best and most attractive to visitors, interested parties, and intellectuals by showcasing the work of faculty members and peer-reviewed scientific journals in all their volumes.
