Mission
Providing a distinguished, advanced and sustainable academic environment that contributes to enhancing the health level of the community by graduating medical competencies, providing consultations and conducting research studies that are scientifically and professionally influential and support innovation and effective partnerships.
Overview
The main roles of the Department of Medical Education are to provide educational support services to the college including curriculum development, implementation of innovative teaching methods, educational research, student assessment, graduate-level training in medical education, and faculty and program evaluation.
Objectives :
- Providing students with basic scientific knowledge in the field of specialization.
- Developing practical and applied skills related to the profession or academic field.
- Promote critical and creative thinking among students.
- Preparing students for the labor market by developing professional and technical skills.
- Instilling professional values and ethics related to the field.
- Encouraging scientific research and participating in research projects.
- Serving the community by providing scientific solutions and community initiatives.
Educational goals:
1. Recognize the rationale and basic principles of student-centered and community-oriented medical education.
2. Describe the principles and processes of Problem-Based Learning (PBL).
3. Analyze a specific patient scenario to identify self-directed learning needs.
4. Interpret the knowledge gained for a deeper understanding of the given issue.
5. Demonstrate responsibility for self-learning.
6. Demonstrate the ability to work effectively in and lead a PBL group, as well as evaluate one's own performance and that of peers and teachers in group discussions.
7. Demonstrate satisfactory written and oral communication skills in presenting information to colleagues and teachers.
8. Use available learning resources effectively to search for, collect, organize, and integrate necessary information.
