Overview
Oral surgery is one of the specialties of dentistry and deals with the treatment of congenital deformities in the maxillofacial region such as cleft lip and palate deformities, bone implants, and dental implants. It also deals with tooth extraction and minor oral surgery, such as surgery to extract wisdom teeth embedded under the bone, treatment of fractures of the facial structure resulting from accidental injuries and others, treatment of infections resulting from dental issues, such as facial swelling due to the formation of abscesses, treatment of cysts, tumors and salivary gland tumors in the oral and maxillofacial region, orthognathic surgery and surgical adjustment of the jaw position with orthognathic surgery, whether by traditional methods or bone lengthening.
Objectives :
1- Providing dental students and graduates with a high-quality education in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
2- Providing quality clinical care to patients in need of specialized expertise in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
3) Conducting interdisciplinary scientific and clinical research and producing new knowledge that contributes to improving patient care and community culture.
